The Ethical And Moral Issues Of Organ Transplantation
Organ transplantation has been one of the most riveting medical advances of the century as it literally gives the chance of a lifetime to patients with terminal failure of vital organs. This requires the participation of other people in society to donate organs from their deceased family or even donations from living individuals themselves. The increasing incidence of vital organ failure and the inadequate supply of organs has created a wide gap between organ supply and demand. This has resulted in very long wait times to receive an organ as well as an increasing number of deaths while waiting. These events have raised many ethical, moral and societal issues regarding supply, the methods by which the organs are being allocated, and the use of living donors as volunteers. This paper will talk about the ethical and moral issues generated by the current advances in organ transplantation, the problem of organ supply versus organ demand, and the ethical dilemma behind allocating of the s mall amount of available organs being donated. The need for organ transplantation has rapidly increased all over the world during the past decade or so due to the increased incidence of vital organ failure. Unfortunately, the unavailability of adequate organs for transplantation has resulted in major organ shortage crises. Various Aspects of Personal Skill Development
Question: Describe about behaviour management in personal skill development? Answer: Introduction: In this context the main concentration is provided upon various aspects of personal skill development. Several factors are there in relation to developing a good personal skill in all perspective (Bassford, 2010). The term personal skill signifies that the capability of an individual in respect of his performance upon any particular field. Generally personal skill refers the internal improvement of a human being. Interaction with others, conveying information and knowledge, behaviour, etc are mainly focused in respect of developing the personal skill of an individual. Managing the behaviour of an individual, various acknowledgements, backgrounds, achievements, identification of relevant factors, recognition etc is the main concern topic of this context. Here relevant factors in relation to the development of personal skill are going to be discussed in this project (Shimizu LeVine, 2002). Behaviour management: The two mainly difficult portion of teaching when it arrives to classroom management, getting your students to react with positive approach to your directions and getting all of them engaged in the process of teaching and tasks. The problem is, most teachers almost certainly have far too several demanding students to deal with, and not sufficient hold up and restricted period of time to convey a triumphant lesson, each and every day (Kornai, MaÃÅ'à tyaÃÅ'à s Roland, 2009). Teachers are tiring enough with the pressure of controlling the problems of students behaviour at the same time as trying to organize the balance of their grave workload that they have to deal with all these things on an everyday basis (Baker, Schorer Cobley, 2012).Behavior management is same kind of to behavior modification. It is a less concentrated description of behavior therapy. In behavior adaptation the main concentration is on varying behavior depending upon the relevant factors, whilst in behavior administration the focal point is on preserving order. Behavior modification skills are of exacting significance to teachers in the edifying system. Behavior management contains all of the measures and conscious inactions to increase the probability people, independently and in groups, choose behaviors which are individually fulfilling, creative, and socially suitable. There is a immense deal of explore in relation to "behavior change" and "behavior management". B.F. Skinner and Carl Rogers have prearranged two definitely different approaches for take in hand the behavior. Skinner's approach denotes that anyone be able to manipulate behavior by initial identifying what the person finds satisfying. Once the plunders of a person are known, subsequently those plunders can be chosen that the manager is keen to provide in replace for good behavior. Skinner calls this "Positive Reinforcement Psychology". Rogers propose that in order to successfully concentrate on behavior problems, person must be convinced to want to behave properly. This is done by teaching the person the distinction among right and wrong including why he or she ought to do the right thing. Rogers believes that the person ought to have an inner consciousness of right and wrong (Arora, 2014).Having a established system for dealing along with behaviour inconvenience as they take place (a classroom management plan), and an suggestion on how to get the attention of students, also process to get esteem from your main challenging scholars, it is crucial as these inconvenience which can create some days enormously difficult and exasperating for both students and the teacher (Bryson, 2010).Confident teachers are in a command of the whole thing that occurs in the classroom. They settle on what is mostly preferable for students, and lead them to learn productively. Students are expected to do as you are told and self-confident teachers make sure this by making and maintaining an environment in the classroom t hat endorses effective learning, students act quickly and determinedly in peaceful and collective way.The two personal skill areas I have identified as needing improvement of my teaching are behaviour management and voice projectionI believe these two areas are significantly important to teaching and making a success of every lesson during a teacherscareer. Use of behaviour management Behavior management is generally utilized when a person tries to end difficult behavior from any other individual. Behavior alteration and behavior therapy assist with behavior management in two ways. Behavior therapy is utilized when an person is trying to find the course of the manners, why the human being is behaving the way they are. Behavior alteration is a method to enlarge or reduce behavior. Utilizing these techniques, a person be able to achieve behavior management (Rogers, 2002).Optimistic strengthening, unenthusiastic strengthening, positive and negative penalty are all shapes of Operant taming. Strengthening is at what time you try to amplify behavior, either in a positive way or in a negative way. If anyone utilizes positive strengthening, that person adds a wanted incentive for preferred behavior, for example, awarding good behavior with a treat. Unenthusiastic strengthening is when you enlarge behavior by eradicating something which is unwanted. For example, the childs room is disorganized and his mother nags him to clear it up, he ultimately keeps it clear to eliminate his moms nagging. Punishment is trying to decrease behavior, either by using negative or positive (Bowman, 2005). Positive Penalty is when you add a not needed stimulus to reduce the behavior of the target, for example, spanking a child while he behaves inadequately. Here, spanking is being additional to reduce his dreadful behavior (Pinikahana Walker, 2011). Negative penalty is when you eliminate somewhat the target enjoyed or prefers to eliminate his or her dreadful behavior, for example, Johns child returns home past curfew every weekend, John eliminate watching TV after he is past curfew, as a result, Johns childs behavior of returning past curfew will be reduced. This is negative penalty as Johns child likes to see Tele Vision, so whilst John takes that away from his reach for being late, he does not prefer it, for that reason, deficient to return back home on correct time t o not get that dispensation taken away (Swainston, 2007). Background on the student Aged between 16-18 Left school with no qualification. Enrolled on this training academy to gain GCSE qualification in Maths and English through functional skills. Most of them not wanted to be there. Pressure from parents. Some not even interested in hair and beauty Just need GCSE for another course they wish to pursue in another establishment. So not paying much attention in the class especially during the theory lesson During theory During most lessons some students are very disruptive they are the same set of students most of the time. They do not like theory work during the lesson always asking to go to the toilet in the middle of the lesson asking very silly and questions that are not relevant to the topic and completely switch off during presentation. Never completing their task given during lesson and have to take home as extra homework to complete. Some studentsmanage to complete their tasks very quickly and ask to leave home very early if they are not allowed they become very disruptive and distract other from doing their work. In the course of the study students do not like to concentrate in the lessons and they do not even bother that not concentrating in the lesson at the time of teaching is harmful for them. It is the duty of the teacher to make the students bound to follow the instructions given by the teacher in lieu of the lessons teaching by the concern teacher. All the students in a classroom are not same, they used to come from different backgrounds, different families and many other different perspectives but the common thing among them is that they are the student of the same class as well as the students of a same teacher. So, the teacher should be well capable of making the bridge of collaboration and sense of cooperation among all the students of the class. Confident teachers are well acquainted about the facts contradictory in relation to the way of teaching and they also know the process how to solve those contradictions and to establish a good environment of study in the course of the teaching. In most of the cases, generally theoretical part of a course of study is not so enthusiastic for the students; it depends upon the ability of the teacher to represent the theoretical study in such a manner that it will create a sense of gratitude among the students for the teacher and it will attract the mind of the students that they will be able to concentrate in the cours e of study. During practical I noticed that most off the student really liked doing practical work. At the moment the students were doing theory on a Monday and practical sessions on a Tuesday the theory lesson is three hours long with a fifteen minute break in between and the same with the practical lesson on Tuesday. During the practical sessions they are very quiet they get on with theyre very well all tasks are completed within the specified time and their work is presented very well and they seem to be learning quiet a lot during the lesson. Also as they carry out the work I notice that they are very quiet and there concentration levels are quite high, and after every lesson they always ask what they are doing in their next practical session. Strategy used Even the most meticulously planned lessons can go to pot if students misbehave but sessions could be improved by teacher preparing an extra task for some students who complete task provided quicker than the time given. Also In the future lessons could be improved by breaking them down into half for example the first 90 minutes could be theory and the second 90 minutes could be practical. I think by doing this student will still get both practical and theory in one day and still be engaged in lessons and learning will be very productive. By just doing 3 hours of theory students loose concentration and disengage during the lesson and become very disruptive. This has a very bad impact on the lesson as classroom management cannot be maintained and what the students learn is very limited. early productivity in lessons helps to engage students. It is then easier to share the point of the lesson with your pupils(Quigley, 2015) Knowledge and skill developed and achievements: Students doing more work would not elevate standards. They are required to be doing the right things. This is the distinction among being occupied and being productive. Here are the main three steps I followed to encouraging students efficiency and progress in lessons. Teach the right things Get students doing most of the work Organise classroom structures By using this strategy of teaching during lessons and dividing the lesson in half I believe that classroom management was maintained and managed well. Adapting to students individual needs and recognising own limitations as a professional doesnt mean that you can handle everything. Knowing that you have support and backup is crucial tostaying in control of your own behaviourand responding appropriately to students bad behaviour. Be Attentive. Use Positive Self-Talk. Debrief with pears. Be Mindful of Your Own Reaction. Poor communication is generally recognised as a feature of bad management.(elton, 1989) It is the duty of every teacher to promote sense of obligation among the students in respect of the studies. In this regard the teacher must be positive in nature in relation to teaching aspects. Positive frame of work encourages students for paying more and more attention in the course of the study. The teacher should simplify the context of the study as it will be easier for the students to understand as well as encouraging. Well qualified teachers are quite aware of their gestures and postures in the course of the teaching, any misconduct from the part of the teacher not only hamper the class but also reduce the sense of respect from the part of the students towards teacher. The teacher should be very good organizers, as they have to organize the class in such a manner that no disability as to the course of study may arise. Above all, the teacher ought to be attentive towards his class and the lesson he is teaching, as well as the understanding level among all of the students. Identification of the area working on Insecurities about your voice, or overwhelming concerns about what others will think about your sound can get in the wayand prevent you from projecting your voice. This is not always an easy fix, and often takes consistent practice and work.I intend to practice directing my voice for example practising talking to objects or targets and giving my voice an aim so I can naturally project my voice in the classrooms. Gaining class attention Getting students on task Giving praise Consequences What you wanted to achieve. First parody can be enduring, and they are generally based upon the behaviour. Earlier than you even commence teaching, your apprentices will have previously made some judgments about you, so it is significant to comprehend what those parody are based on and how to control them. Achieving classroom management is imperative regardless of these difficulties, there are teachers who constantly do well with the mostnoncompliantstudents, and enjoy a new intelligence of accomplishment, a lesser amount of stress and more joy in teaching their students. Leaving positive lasting impressions on students on students so they to love to learn and give kids more options, better opportunities and a greater capacity to give back to others. What you learned from this area. Be patience, plenty of patients are needed every day and in every way within the classroom full of youthful energetic student who will utilize their imaginationin many ways to test your tolerance every day. Any teacher who presumes that a classroom full of students will be willing to sit silently and listen to the teacher teaches them will be astonished by the rude beginning that students do not work that way. Give more praises Give clear instructions/ repeat Middle ground Follow up on consequences Extra task Identify learners needs offer additional support Conclusion: After the above discussion it can be summed up that here personal skill development is very much dependable upon the relationship among the teacher and the student. Every teacher is responsible for the better future and capability of obtaining skill of the students. Teachers are the primary source for a student to enhance the skills and capabilities as to the personal skill development. In above the basic understanding level from the part of the teacher has been discussed as to their responsibilities and duties in furnishing better quality of education to the students. But a teacher can guide or emphasise upon the credential of a student but the development of the personal skill is quite dependable upon the acceptability of students as well as the attention of the parents in this regard. Aside from producing tons of cement per year and maximizing profit, the company has its own social responsibility towards the community and the environment. Their advocacy is not just for the benefit of the four corners of the company ââ¬â the employees, but also for the benefit of the people that surrounds them. They are giving livelihood programs to the community where people can use it, doing something for the environment ââ¬â trees amp; mangrove planting, cleaning stagnant canals and also giving seminars and workshop for safety measures such as first aid training and how to use the fire extinguisher in a proper way. Also, the company have this so called FACE (Fostering A Child Education) program where they are giving scholarships to those less fortunate children who have a low income on their family. One thing why the employees loved to work in HOLCIM Company is that the ompany assures the safety of the employees. Their safety goal is to have a ZERO harm to their employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors. Mr. Ivan Sabater from Safety, discussed us the safety measures and plant rules implemented in their prestigious company. One of the safety measures that the employees must be observed and followed especially when entering the production area is wearing of complete mandatory personal protection such as safety helmets and shoes, spectacles and reflective vest. These gadgets protect the employees from falling objects and debris. Also, the company implemented the following behaviors (Ligtas Ugali); Assess the area; Eyes on Path; Eyes on Hand and Communication. These rules ensure the protection and safety of the employees. There is no doubt why HOLCIM Company became a leading cement company in the country because of its characteristics, programs implemented and I think this company would last hundred years of existence. The experienced that I gained from the company was memorable because not all students have an opportunity to visit and observe one of the prestigious company in the city. Next company that we visited was the Coca Cola Company. We arrived there at 12 noon where most of the employees were having their lunch. As we entered the production area, all that we heared were the noisy of the bottles and crates running in the conveyor as well as the machine theyââ¬â¢re using during the production. One of the employees in the name of James entertained us and discussed something about their production process. He pointed out some of the huge jars where the raw materials come from. As we noticed that they donââ¬â¢t have much employees working on their company, itââ¬â¢s because they used the modern technology in processing in order that the production would be faster and minimize the defects that would possibly appear during the production. We are all amazed why the company still remained one of the competitive drinking industries in the world because of how accurate and modernized the way they processed their products. We left the company with so much fun even though all of us were starving because we didnââ¬â¢t take our lunch yet. We went directly to Tita Dââ¬â¢z at Anda St. , the eat all you can fast food to have our lunch. All of us were enjoyed having lunch and some of us were taking pictures while eating. After having our lunch, our adviser instructed us to go to Peopleââ¬â¢s Park where our bus was park. Then we went to the University of Mindanao, Matina to have a sightseeing of the university. We were amazed because of the improved facilities that they have compared to the other branches of the university. Some of the students there as we observed were very busy on their personal gadgets (computer) where they just sat on the floor while using it and some of them were having their individual classes. After a few hours later, we decided to go to our next destination based on what is written in our itinerary but sad to say that most of our classmates wanted to go to the mall rather than going to Peopleââ¬â¢s Park. We stroll for more than an hour at the NCCC Mall where most of us were enjoyed because of the sightseeing inside the mall and buying something what we liked. When we received text messages coming from our classmates informing that we need to go back, we hurried-up going back to our bus. Since most of us were tired, we all decided to go back home. All I can say is that the educational trip that we had was memorable because of the knowledge, opportunities and experiences really worth remembering Narrative Report free essay sample The author would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to the following persons who contributed much in the completion of this practicum report; Dr. Rhodora S. The first week of my OJT is in dining at Cafe Subic inside the Bravo SIH. The Cafe Subic Manager is Mrs. Lolita Aquino she is a very strict but kindly trainer. On the first day of my dutyI was so excited I came early at cafe Subic together with Kathleen and Gladys. When we arrived there we met maââ¬â¢am Lolita and some of their staff, they are all kind and very hospitable. After weââ¬â¢ve sign-in on our time sheet maââ¬â¢am Lolita talk to us to give some information and briefing about inside the cafe Subic like the table numbering and seat numbering, their facilities and equipment needed, proper way of serving coffee and tea, and they guide us in all area where every operation happens. On that day I already experience to be a receptionist and I realize that itââ¬â¢s not too easy to stand for a long period of time.à in the afternoon weââ¬â¢ve only study the menu in the morning then after our duty before we leave, maââ¬â¢am Lolita gave us some briefing about what weââ¬â¢ve learn on the whole day. The next they, she gave us our own task. My assign task was in toast bread. There are three choices of breakfast these are the: Continental Breakfast, Filipino Breakfast and American Breakfast. The continental and American B. has choices of breads. In every order of American and continental breakfast I need to toast a bread either wheat or white bread with pastry like croissant. If I have no work to do, arranging of spoon and fork, and foldingà of table napkin are some of my task during our duties. Every day after we leave,maââ¬â¢am Lolita talks to us and give briefing about what weââ¬â¢ve done on that day. On the third day the assign task to me is coffee or tea. Their coffee and tea are unlimited. It is not too easy to do that task because youneed to go around every time to see if some guests are wanted to refill their coffee or tea. There are also hot chocolate but limited only. On the fourth day the assign task to me is Receptionist. On that day, the only thing that I will do is to stand the whole day at main entrance door of cafe Subic. In every guest that came I should welcome them then ask table for how many they will occupy then I will guide them to go to their table and ask if they have a coupon if none Iââ¬â¢d rather ask what room number they are staying and after that I will give it to order taker. Being a receptionist is not too easy because you need to stand straight and always with good posture. On my fifth day of OJT my task is same as yesterday because our manager takes her day off yesterday then she requested me to dothat task again to see if I can handle it. On my sixth day there are some OJT from PWU because of thatthere are no specific task where assign to us. Instead of doing nothing Iââ¬â¢d rather do something so I do anything in short rotation then Iââ¬â¢d help them to their duties assign to them. Our manager chooses to put me in fruits and juice area and in toast breads area together with ate Irene. That day our tasks are job well done! And for the last day of my first week itââ¬â¢s not bad because all Iââ¬â¢m going to do is to serve the coffee and tea to guests. It is nice when I think that I have done my duties well in my first week in dining. Second week in FB April 02-08 On the first day of my second week, we have to go school for our enrollment because our coordinator insisted us toenroll because she told us it was required or else our effort will be useless. On the next day, our manager gave us another task to do in the hotel. I was assign to take orders from the customer/guest. We need to help our manager to take an order because it is a holy weekday. Therefore, you have to be alert on what the customers is telling you so that there will no error or mistakes about their orders. You will be responsible for their orders and you will be the one to serve their orders and even for their payments. That day, before I take order I will wait for the receptionist to welcome and guide the guest to their table. On the next day, I am still the one who takes order, then I toast bread and I assigned in fruits and juice. On April 6-8, I assigned in buffet and taking order, we have buffet in that day because we have a lot of guest, the front office requested it. Third week in FB April 9-12 This week is my last week in dining area. Even though I made so many mistakes and my manager get mad at me, I will miss her and the cafe Subic staffs. My manager allowed me to do the things that I have learned from her, like taking order, coffee and tea, fruits and juice, toast breads and last be a receptionist. Even though I am tired in doing all our daily routine, I feel so happy and flattered because I know in myself that I have learned so many things and I have done it successfully. First week in Housekeeping April 13-19 (Bravo SIH) On my first week on housekeeping, we get first through briefing and orientation. Maââ¬â¢am Danila discussed first the uses of their cleaning materials, like shine up for dusting, liquid soap for cleaning and washing things inside the hotel, the location of alpha, delta and bravo building, the rules and regulation of housekeeping department, about the MUR, DND sign, requisition form for in and out of supplies and linens and so many more. That day I started on my duty together with my RA Mr. Froilan Delos Santos at the fifth floor of bravo building. My assigned task for that day is dusting, and cleaning, throwing garbage and sweeping. Then, Mr. Delos Santos teaches the proper way of bed making or beddings. On the next day, many guests will be checking out. I am still assigned in fifth floor of bravo building together with Mr. Delos Santos. I am in charge in dusting cleaning and beddings but because of many guest where checked out I do only dusting and cleaning, Mr. Froilan Said. On the third day, Paula and I are assigned in fifth floor of bravo building again. From higher to lower, we need to beddings all 34 floor but we have not yet finish it; weââ¬â¢ve finished only more than 20 rooms because itââ¬â¢s not too easy to beddings 34 rooms quad set up. The next day of my duty, Alyssa and Iassigned to sweep the hallways and stairs from first to fifth floor of bravo Building. The next two day, I was assigned the linen room locatedat the third floor of bravo together with Alyssa we were be the linen attendant, we are responsible for the supplies and linen uses in every room. I was glad that even it is a very long week for me in housekeeping I made it well and even it is tired. First Week in Internal Audit April 23-29 In this week, I was assigned to the internal audit, because the h. r department requested an ojt to help the internal audit to their work. Because one of those worker of the internal audit has been to leave so someone will take a work for her, and as an ojt I accept it because it is an opportunity to me to be with him or her even for a while. In this whole week I have do the receipt like the receipt of golden dragon, golden teahouse, terrace cafe, and cafe Subic. In addition, I was always on the Charlie building, to look at the people who eat on the Charlie building. Moreover, sometimes I answer a phone call when they are busy serving and giving food to the people. As the whole may pass, I always do that. Second week in housekeeping April 30- May 06 In my secondweek after my Internal Audit, then I will get back to housekeeping duty. On that day, I go to the office to see the operating and the assign room attendant is ââ¬Å"kuya Geâ⬠we assign at the third floor of the bravo building to clean the lower and higher rooms. There are 34 rooms we have going to clean and I am so tired doing that things. ââ¬Å"Kuya Ge told me to beddings and throws the trash to the garbage. Then after I do bedding, I learned how to sweep and dust the floor. When I am done doing the beddings and Kuya Ge was not finished doing the cleaning rooms I do brooming the rag. After we finished cleaning the rooms, we help other co- room attendant of Kuya Ge in making room checking and makeup room session. I help to my classmate and other co-OJT in their works. On the next day, I assign in the second floor together with Ms. Melinda de Guzman. At first, I feel so excited to be her Ojt because sheââ¬â¢s kind and jolly person so it is easy to me to do my duties with her. I learned lot of things during my duty like setup amenities and beddings. My second week is enjoy and tiring day but I am happy and glad that I have done my work successfully. Restaurant Phase Cafe Subiccasual restaurant located at the lobby of the Bravo (Main) building- Subic International Hotel. It is twenty-four Hours open. They Offers light snacks, native and international meals. They serve breakfasts like American breakfast, Filipino breakfast and Continental breakfast. The choices in American breakfast are ham, bacon or sausage with hash brown potatoes and a choice of fruits or juice. The choices in Filipino breakfast are tapa, daingNa bangus, chicken or pork adobo and longganisa and a choice of fruits or juice. A continental breakfast has only assorted breads with a choice of fruits or juice. Most important they offer a refillable coffee and tea. Conclusion At the end, I conclude that Cafe Subic is a restaurant offers many kind of breakfast like continental, American and Filipino breakfast and on the afternoon appetizer, soup, salad, main dish, desserts. I learned to do the standard set up of tables and I have learned to do a flower arrangement, how to toast many kind of bread like croissant, wheat bread etc. On making an inventory of cookies like Choco butter crunch and oatmeal cookies, and ice creams like any kind of cornetto. I learned making a receipt in taking a guestââ¬â¢s order also;I learned to do napkin folding. I also experience being a receptionist and there are many duties like welcoming the guestââ¬â¢s before entering and to ask how many persons would occupy the seats I also memorized all the foods on their menus so when the guest is asking unfamiliar dish I could answers their questions. I learned to solve unexpected situation. In my on job training, I enhance my personality, self-confidence and I can socialized to the other people like the guests, employees and also some big bosses. In more than two weeks of my stay in dining area, I have learnedmany things, I met different people and I enjoyed working with them. In housekeeping department, I have learn many things like how to beddings properly. How to clean the rooms and restroom, to set up amenities, how to make a daily report, to answer guest request. The most important thing that I have learned is to be flexible and faster in working. Lastly, I have learned some office works like a lot of paper works, encoding receipt, and answering phone calls from different departments. I am so glad that I would expend my almost one and a half month of my OJT in Subic International Hotel. I will not forget all my experiences in SIH. All I can say that I made it successfully!
